Valalta is one of the largest naturist camping resorts in Europe.

It has 70 hectares with almost 2000 apartments, bungalows, mobile homes, caravans and camp sites with a capacity for over 4000 naked people and families.

Several restaurants and bars, a large swimming pool, a nude marina, several beautiful nude, sandy beaches, their own brewery that brews delicious light and dark beer (I prefer the dark).

The resort is family oriented so it is all very natural and above board. There are families and couples from all over the world, although German is the language heard most often.

The Grill Restaurant and Bar (Restaurant)

The Grill bar offers good food and is probably the liveliest bar later in the evening.

The Rump or Ramsteak (as they call it) is excellent.

There is usually live entertainment of some sort and some very professional dancing (ball-room, salsa, etc) by the general public.

After dark almost everyone is dressed (casually) in the restaurants and around the resort.

Laundry (Laundry)

The drop-off laundry is situated in a courtyard behind the supermarket. You may have to ask directions, as it is not well marked. It might be Valalta's best kept secret.

I handed in a large sail bag of laundry(10 or 15Kg)and it only cost me 36Kn (€5). It was ready the next day and nicely folded.

Best deal anywhere in the Med.

Valalta Marina (Marina)

Naturist marina situated in Valata nude resort.

Just for the novelty, I stayed in the marina for a few days, costing about €40 per day.

I later found out that I could anchor free in Uvala Soline to the south, and still come ashore to enjoy the restaurants and other facilities.

Valalta supermarket (Supermarket)

You need to cover up when going in the resort office and the supermarket.

A well stocked supermarket.

If you bring your own plastic bottles, you can buy locally brewed beer, or local wine from the tap at very reasonable prices.

Ivan's Wine Bar (Bar)

This is not part of the resort, but is across the bay and typically clothing optional, too. It is an old farmhouse on the water's edge with some outdoor tables.

Ivan's is open during the day and serves ham and local wine in jugs to rowdy crowds of naked German's singing songs, playing guitars and drinking wine.

Uvala Soline (Anchorage)

I anchored off the long pier on the east of the bay. Good holding, but beware that the bay shoals up beyond this point to the south.

I dinghied ashore to the small dock on the south and tried to tie up in the least conspicuous spot. No one complained about me being there.

It is common for people to visit Valata resort by boat, by ferry from the Koversada resort across the fjord and from the neighboring towns.

I never heard any official word on this, but it seems that they enjoy outsiders visiting their resort and patronizing their restaurants, bars and other facilities.

The Round House (Restaurant)

The Round House restaurant is not part of Valalta resort, but serves wonderful mixed grills, cooked in a special pot underneath the coals of the fire.

I don't know what the real name of the konoba is, but it is generaly known as the Round House.

They are very laid back here, and you need to make a reservation beforehand.
I think they only serve lunch.

The dining area is often clothing optional.

Koversada Resort (Camp Site)

Across the bay from Valalta is Koversada Resort that is also naturist (FKK) and is one of the largest naturist resorts in the world, established in 1961.

I forget the name of this popular anchorage to the south of Valalta
