Pakleni Islands

This is the Riviera of Hvar. Lovely secluded anchorages and beaches. Tourists ferry regularly from Hvar town.

Vrboska

A pretty, natural seaport with waterfront warehouses and stone bridges over the water.

I anchored outside in the northern bay and came in by dinghy.

Pleasant walk across the bridge and up the hill, to Uvala Maslinica bay.

Hvar Town (Excursion)

A tourist town with many bars , shops and restaurants.

Since the deep anchorage requires a lot of anchor scope and being so crowded it is hard to keep boats from bumping, we decided to leave the yachts in Paklini and dinghy across to the town.

A beautiful town, well worth visiting. There is also a good supermarket.

This is the home of the trendy and famous Carpe Diem bar with people lounging on plush overstuffed pillows and bikini girls returning from the beach supposedly dance on the tables at happy hour. Unfortunately we missed all this by visiting in the morning.

Luka Zavala (Anchorage)

A pleasant afternoon anchorage. After sunset it was deserted, so I moved further to the west. It would be a fine overnight anchorage too.

Luka Tiha (Anchorage)

A pleasant overnight anchorage near Starigrad. I tucked well into the head of the bay and another boat came in late and anchored even deeper into the bay. Good holding. Pretty surroundings. Very remote.

StariGrad

Go stern to the southern shore where there is water and electricity. There are red mooring bouys along the north shore.

Scedro Lovisce (Anchorage)

Good holding in sand and mud if the wind is not in the north. In a Northerly you are better off in Uvala Carnjeni on the south shore.

There is a restaurant in one of the side bays with moorings.
