As non-EU boat, the
shipyard in Kilada places our transit log in bond with customs in Nafplion each year. This effectively stops the clock on our 18 month limit in EU before having to pay import duty on the boat.
The shipyard charges €40 to send the papers to Nafplion, but one needs to go there in person to collect the papers in the spring. One can catch a 10 am bus from the shipyard to Kranidi, and an 11am bus to Nafplio. It takes about 2 hours, but beware that you need to change buses after about 45 minutes, or you will end up in Corinth, like I did the first time.
You need to bring the copy of the transit log that the shipyard gives you in the autumn.
You can easily catch a return bus back to Kranidi, but you will need to get a taxi from Kranidi back to Kilada as the last bus will have left by the time you get there.
