We anchored here early in the morning, coming from Limini, to see the wonderful Vlihada caves. Not to be missed

Dinghy dock (Dockage)

We threw out a dinghy anchor to hold us off the dock in the small surge while we were in the caves.

Vlihada Caves Entrance (Excursion)

You board one of several pont boats that are skillfully commandeered by your tour guide, and then travel over the water through, what seems like miles of tunnels, some wide, and some narrow, through spectacular scenery. They do not sing, like at some other caves but this does not detract from the experience.

At the end of the boat ride, you still have quite a bit of stair climbing through equally beautiful terrain to the exit which is on the water to the west of the entrance. Everything is well lit and the formations are spot lighted.  It is not a challenging walk, although therev are some stairs to climb.

When you exit, you walk along a paved path back to the entrance, and to your dinghy waiting at the dock below.

Exit (Excursion)

I notice that the sign says to return helmuts, but I don't remember wearing helmuts in the cave.

Ticket Office (Point of Interest)

The location of the ticket office is designed for motorists and campers coming in from the road and not for boaters coming from the water. You need to walk up the steep winding road past the bend, but the view is worth it.
