You can stop at  wineries in villages of each region along the wine routes,  tasting wines that have won international awards, or stop at local residences with signs that they offer wine. You can try the wine of the area at konobas in each village. Do not miss the prsut, which is fantastic smoked ham.

The wine routes are:
THE WINE ROAD OF BUJE REGION
Brtonigla, Umag, Novigrad, Dajla, Nova Vas, Groznjan, Buje, Savudrija
THE WINE ROAD OF THE POREC REGION
Visnjan, Tar, Baderna, Funtana, Lovrec
THE WINE ROAD OF BUZET & PAZIN
Buzet, Tinjan, Pazin
THE WINE ROAD OF ROVINJ & VODNJAN REGION
Rovinj, Vodnjan, Valbandon

The white, Malvazija (malmsey) from centuries old vineyards, is a yellowing to golden color and has a scent of locust blossoms. It goes well with seafood.

Red wine of  Teran,  the wine of choice for Casanova (who spent summers in Vrsar) has a full and fruity flavor and is fantastic with meat.

Muskat has a golden color, a floral scent, and is very dry and sweet and is rumored to be an aphrodesiac.
