Also known as Saint Nicholas island for a 5th century church erected here in honor of the real Santa.

It is covered with Lycian ruins, many Byzantine churches and a palace.

The old harbour dock is partly submeged along the Northern edge of the island.

Anchorage (Anchorage)

I anchored in a big blow on the rocky shelf in about 8 meters and probably should have had a line ashore, but I was single handed.

There was a large sailing vessel in the middle of the bay anchored close to me but in 25 meters which was a bit nerve wracking due to the vast difference in anchor scope. We came close when the wind changed but did not touch.

In the morning the wind had dropped and I rowed ashore for a quick look before heading back to Fethiye.

In the morning a vendor came out in a boat selling bread and fruit, at quite a steep price.

Covered walkway

built for a princess who (according to various legends) was thought by her father to be too beautiful to be seen by the populace, albino and so had to be protected from the sunlight, or just very spoilt.
