Recommended anchorages east of the Harbour Bridge are Athol Bay and Hermit Bay; they both allow views of the city lights at night. Middle Harbour, west of the Spit Bridge, provides a number of good anchorages and a serene environment. Spring Cove or Quarantine Beach are good, although often popular anchorages.
