We sailed in here back in 1984 when the whole area was very undeveloped and delightfully funky. Since the lighthouse was closed for renovation back then, we made a point of returning 25 years later. It was still a nice place to visit, although the surrounding area now has some upscale waterfront homes.

Directly opposite the real lighthouse, the Lighthouse Landing Restaurant has constructed a miniature 35 foot version of the light.
This is a quaint, funky restaurant on the water and certainly worth a visit.

Ponce de Leon Light house (Point of Interest)
The 1887 lighthouse has been restored and is operational as a privately maintained navigational aid.
It is the tallest lighthouse in the USA and is constructed only from brick, without any steel reinforcement. The walls are 8 feet thick at the base.
The museum around the base of the light is well worth a visit. One can climb the circular satircase to the tp for magnificent views.
