Amorgos
Ios
One of my favorite islands in the Cyclades.
In mid season, Ios has a reputation as a party capital of the islands, full of young naked revelers, but in September it was reasonably quiet and pleasant.

Paros
A large volcanic island. Lots of white marble architecture.
Frankish castle built in 1620 from the stones of an ancient temple.
Sanctuary of Poseidon, 5 km from the town of Poros on the road to the Monastery of Zoodochos Pigi, sitting in a beautiful setting. It was here that Demosthenes drank poison after having been cornered by his enemies in 322 BC.
Other sights include ruins, windmills, monasteries, castles, temples, churches, beaches, traditional colourful fishing boats, friendly fishermen repairing nets.

Serifos
Andiparos
Santorini (Thiera)
The island is the rim of a huge volcanic caldera.
One Atlantian theory is that it was the eruption of this volcano that's destroyed Atlantis.
It is too deep to anchor securely except in the unfinished marina on the south of the island.

Folegandros (Island)
This island has a charming Hora accessible from the main ferry port by bus. Not only is it beautiful, but there are groceries and markets there. We anchored in the bay and dinghied ashore.
