Vieste is a lovely old city with many arches, alley ways, steps, restaurants and shops.

It is the closest point to Croatia (Lastovo)when coming to or from the south.

No boats were anchored and all were docked at the Ormeggiatori docks.

Lava Secco Grazia Laundry (Laundry)

Drop off Laundry

Not very cheap, but the only available laundry that I could find. It was recommended by the lady at the marina.

I think I paid €50 for a large sail bag of laundry.

Vieste Ormeggiatori (Marina)

Each pontoon is run by a seperate Ormeggiatore and the pricing is much the same at each, but depends on time of year and available dockage.

In June I paid €30 for the first day and €20 for the second at the third Ormeggiatore slip.

In September I paid €40 for the first day and €30 for subsequent days at the first pontoon run by Caterina and Antonio.

A fine fortress above the beach, but it looks like a military installation and was not open to the public.

La Ripa trattoria (Restaurant)

We had a great dinner here in the alleyway. Wonderful ambiance with tables propped up on the sloping walkway, and candles scuptures formed by many  hours of wax drippings. We had a nice meal and some local wine.

Port Authority (Formalities)

When we came in from Vis in 2009 they cleared us in, but could not stamp our passports. They faxed copies of our passports to Manfredonia, but said we should get stamped when we got to Manfredonia. We never actually went to Manfredonia, and did not get passports stamped until we flew out of Rome several weeks later, after laying up the boat in Brindisi.

They did give us a Constitute di Arrivo to clear the boat in.

I dropped off my Constituto here before leaving for Croatia, and was issued a new one on my return.
